The Keencheefoonee Road Race is Camp Sunshine’s largest annual fundraiser and is driven by our volunteers! Begun by volunteers who were missing out on the Peachtree Road Race because they were at camp, the Keencheefoonee Road Race has grown into a robust fundraising event.

Since 2001 the road race has raised over 3 million dollars for Camp Sunshine sending children with cancer to summer camp. Our goal this year is to raise $350,000 which would sponsor almost all 400 campers for a week of camp this year! We have one week with our teen campers and a second week with our junior campers. Donations make Camp Sunshine possible.

The 5k run and 2k walk are held each Tuesday at summer camp, before breakfast; volunteer counselors run or walk down Keencheefoonee Road for a brisk start to their day! Prizes are awarded that morning for our top fundraisers and race winners.

Anyone can participate in the fundraising, but unfortunately, because of safety and security concerns, the only participants who may run in the race are summer camp volunteers.
