The Keencheefoonee Road Race is Camp Sunshine’s largest annual fundraiser and is driven by our volunteers! Begun in 2001 by volunteers who were missing out on the Peachtree Road Race because they were at camp, the Keencheefoonee Road Race has grown into a robust fundraising event.

To date, the road race volunteers have raised over $4,000,000 to send children with cancer to summer camp at Camp Sunshine. Our goal this year is to raise $400,000 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Camp! We have one week with our teen campers and a second week with our junior campers. Each Tuesday of Camp our volunteers wake up extra early to run or walk down Keencheefoonee Road, all to help raise money to send children with cancer to summer camp! Donations make Camp Sunshine possible – and now that we are officially back in person, we are hoping to make summer camp 2022 the best year yet! Children with cancer are isolated as it is. While we all took a pause from our daily activities to stay healthy against the virus, cancer did not pause. Children are still diagnosed, they still have chemo and treatments, and they still must fight against cancer. Our mission this year is to continue the traditions and connections that make camp the most memorable experience for children with cancer as we have for the last 40 years.
