As most of you know, for the past 20+ years I've been an active volunteer with Camp Sunshine - the camp here in Georgia for children with cancer and their families. The hope at this moment in time is that we will be IN PERSON this June. Camp may look different in our current times, but its impact and importance remains the same. 

In an effort to continue to support Camp Sunshine and these children, I've again signed up to participate in the Keencheefoonee Road Race, a volunteer event that raises money to provide the services of Camp Sunshine to all these kids! On Tuesday, June 21st, I'll participate in our Keencheefoonee Road Race - a run that we counselors started many years ago to help support all that Camp Sunshine is.

Children with cancer are normal kids with special needs who want to participate fully in the everyday experiences of growing up. In a normal year, Camp Sunshine provides kids with cancer the opportunity to enjoy activities like fishing, sports, rock climbing and swimming! We also provide year-round programming for children who have cancer and their families to support them on their journey. Camp Sunshine is so much more than camp! Over the last 2 summers, Camp Sunshine sent virtual "camp" to each camper with a fun filled shipment of things to facilitate virtual activities they dial into each day of camp week. Last year alone, Camp Sunshine sent more than 500 "Camp-in-a-box" packages to campers' homes, so that they could still have camp, despite the pandemic.

Every dollar helps to provide these precious kids and their families special programs and services that are so incredibly needed.

While COVID-19 may have stopped a lot of things, it can't stop the ray of hope that Camp Sunshine provides to these families - which has been so much more needed during these past 2 years. I would be so honored if you'd consider donating to Camp Sunshine, so that we may bring more of this hope and light to kids who need it most right now.
